Important

Participants need to be comfortable in the water and be able to swim. You cannot participate if you are pregnant due to the small risk of cold water entering the suit.

To participate in the tour, you must read and sign the medical statement form in our Snorkeling Handbook before booking. If you have any medical conditions, medical approval from a doctor is required.

Dry suit sizes: While we would like everyone to join our tour, our gear sizes reflect what is available on the market, and it is important guests are within the size parameters. This ensures the safety equipment can serve its purpose and keep guests from getting cold in the glacial water.

Weight limit: 99-265 lbs (45-120 kg)

Height limit: 4'11" - 6'7" (150-200 cm)

English: It is important that you can both understand and communicate in English in order to participate in the tour.

If you have other trip plans and need to take other transitions to get to other cities, please reserve at least three hours of extra time so as to avoid any issues with delayed travel. The Silfra Fissure is located in Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once in the water, your eyes will meet the incredible shades of blue so prevalent in the fissure, as well as the natural under-water flora canyon walls. As you are swimming you will have the opportunity to move across continents, as you will be switching back and forth from both the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which is one of Thingvellir’s most famous characteristics. 

Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is both the historical and geological heart of Iceland. Home to the world’s oldest parliament, Alþingi, founded in 930 AD, it is often called the birthplace of the nation. Located in a rift valley between the North American and Eurasian plates, the park features dramatic landscapes shaped by tectonic forces, including the striking Almannagjá gorge and lava fields.

Geysir , sometimes known as The Great Geysir, is a geyser in south-western Iceland, that geological studies suggest started forming about 1150 CE. The English word geyser (a periodically spouting hot spring) derives from Geysir. The name Geysir itself is derived from the Icelandic verb geysa ("to go quickly forward"). Geysir lies in the Haukadalur valley on the slopes of Laugarfjall lava dome, which is also the home to Strokkur geyser about 50 metres (160 ft) to the south. The Strokkur geyser may be confused with it, and the geothermal field it is in is known usually as either Geysir or Haukadalur.

The name Gullfoss means "Golden Falls," and it's known for its powerful cascade. Gullfoss is fed by the Hvita River and plunges into a dramatic canyon, creating two distinct drops that total around 105 feet (32 meters) in height.
