Day 1 Reykjavik Thingvellir National Park Geysir Geothermal Area Gullfoss Waterfall Reykjavik
The tour starts with an amazing snorkeling adventure in Silfra. We’ll leisurely float in the glacier meltwater that has been filtered through lava for about 50 years before reaching the fissure. The crystal-clear water has roughly the same temperature year-round, meaning you can enjoy this great tour in all seasons.

The low temperature and remarkably clear water provide incomparable visibility to anywhere else in the world. Underwater pictures are taken by our guides during the tour so it is not necessary to bring a waterproof camera. The snorkeling tour takes you through the four main sections of Silfra, including Silfra Deep Crack, Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon. Countless shades of blue and green will take your breath away!

[Exploring the Golden Circle]
You'll be picked up from Thingvellir after snorkeling for the Golden Circle Portion of the tour.

Discover Strokkur, Iceland’s most active hot spring that erupts once every 10 minutes. Strokkur is found in the Geysir Geothermal Area, where the famous Great Geysir has its home. Though Geysir is now dormant, the area is still very active, with numerous smaller hot springs for visitors to enjoy.

We’ll also visit Þingvellir National Park, which holds a special place in the heart of every Icelander because of its historical significance. Þingvellir, which means “fields of assembly,” is where Iceland’s first parliament, Althingi, was held in 930 AD. Althingi is also the oldest running parliament in the world.

In addition, Þingvellir is a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its unique geology. The national park is located in a rift valley created by the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates drifting apart.

The last stop is at the astonishing Gullfoss Waterfall. This double cascade is a sight to behold. The water flows all the way from Langjökull Glacier and gushes 32 m down into the rugged Gullfoss Canyon. Make sure your camera is ready at all times!

[ Silfra Fissure ]

The Silfra Fissure is located in Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once in the water, your eyes will meet the incredible shades of blue so prevalent in the fissure, as well as the natural under-water flora canyon walls. As you are swimming you will have the opportunity to move across continents, as you will be switching back and forth from both the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which is one of Thingvellir’s most famous characteristics.

[ Þingvellir National Park ]

Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is both the historical and geological heart of Iceland. Home to the world’s oldest parliament, Alþingi, founded in 930 AD, it is often called the birthplace of the nation. Located in a rift valley between the North American and Eurasian plates, the park features dramatic landscapes shaped by tectonic forces, including the striking Almannagjá gorge and lava fields.

[ Geysir ]

Geysir , sometimes known as The Great Geysir, is a geyser in south-western Iceland, that geological studies suggest started forming about 1150 CE. The English word geyser (a periodically spouting hot spring) derives from Geysir. The name Geysir itself is derived from the Icelandic verb geysa ("to go quickly forward"). Geysir lies in the Haukadalur valley on the slopes of Laugarfjall lava dome, which is also the home to Strokkur geyser about 50 metres (160 ft) to the south. The Strokkur geyser may be confused with it, and the geothermal field it is in is known usually as either Geysir or Haukadalur.

[ Gullfoss Waterfall ]

The name Gullfoss means "Golden Falls," and it's known for its powerful cascade. Gullfoss is fed by the Hvita River and plunges into a dramatic canyon, creating two distinct drops that total around 105 feet (32 meters) in height.
